I'm not sure I see P. opercullela photos elsewhere with large black marks on the forewing. Palps are striped too,

Phthorimaea operculella

Euryglossa was my first thought also, Anna, but this bee is smaller and the colour on the abdomen of L. adelaidae is more patchy. All of the E. adelaidae that I have seen have a red scuttelum (the rear segment of the thorax). You can also just see the tops of the face markings on H. proximus.

MoV (Part 3) has excellent notes for separating out Apootoreas spp, from each other and similar species. See also the supporting CD disc 'Annoying Grey Things'. It siggests that Xanthorhoe xanthospila 'Yellow Spooted Carpet' can be mistaken for A. dascia. I'm not sure that applies here , but see:-

Hi Tina, @Csteele4 ,

I marvel at how much work is involved for Moderators here, and you have my utmost appreciation and understanding. It's the only way I've been able to access any help with identifying things, so promptness is not a key issue for me, but your care in being accurate is much valued. I still have so many sightings to get posted, and I can see by how the sighting numbers tick over that there's heaps of others being posted too. It is good to know that I'm providing useful info, it's the best I can do in hope of making life easier your end. All the best with your studies and your work,
Warmest Regards,
MazzV
